The beach and sea in front of the house in addition
to the wind make it a perfect
location for kitesurfing. There is a school closeby where you can take some lessons.
Buggy tours
One of the most popular tourist activities in Natal is taking a tour along the
coast with a buggy or a 4 wheel drive vehicle.
Cajueiro
In Pirangi (distance 5km), you can visit the world's biggest cashew tree
(listed in the Guiness Book), covering an area of 8,400 sq m.
The tree is over 100 years old, and between December and February you can taste
its
cashews. The tree underwent a natural genetic modification,
causing its branches to grow
sideways; when a branch touches the ground, a new ramification (without roots)
begins to grow.
Farol da Mãe Luiza
Via Costeira, close to Areia Preta.
The farol (light house) is still used today to help orientation of ships
along the
Natal coast; built in 1951, the tower is 37 m high and
counts 150 steps to reach
the top.
Natal Aquarium
The largest aquarium in the Northeast of Brazil. Exhibits sharks, pinguins and
several other sea animals.

The name is Portuguese for Rocket Launcher Barrier of Hell; barrier of hell is
a reference to the towering red cliffs which abound
on the beaches of the
region.
Because of its position, almost right on the Equatorial line, Natal is an
excellent location for aerospatial centers.
The center is open to visitation. Reservations
must be made in advance.
